Diabetics Emergency Kit: Be prepared for the unexpected
FEMA recommends that you be self-sufficient for the first 72 hours in any emergency, before any assistance arrives.
Agoura Hills, CA, October 6th, 2008 — For the first time, an emergency survival kit assembled specially for Diabetics is now available from DiabetesAndMore.
The kit includes a medication cooling pouch, which will keep medication cool for 45 hours without refrigeration. With just water the cooling pouch can be activated and then reactivated. Also included are: a syringe needle clipper, to clip the syringes for easy and legal disposal; glucose tablets and gel, syringes, alcohol prep pads, Tylenol, non perishable food, etc .The kit does NOT include the insulin or glycogen shot. However these can be stored in the cooling pouch that comes with the kit during an emergency.
Unfortunately, we have a steady drumbeat of natural disasters each year. This kit is designed to be functional, easily stored, and accessible in an emergency.
Gillian Miller, the founder of DiabetesAndMore.com noted that: “the impetus for the design of this kit came from a 2:00 a.m. evacuation order in my area, when some two years ago police cruisers hailed all residents in my area to immediately evacuate because of approaching fires. My daughter is a type 1 diabetic. Panic was avoided in my home because I had a basic emergency kit at hand. I learned from that experience what could and should be added to the kit to ensure its general universality.”
DiabetesAndMore.com is geared to diabetic aids for both type 1 and 2 diabetics. It is now going into its fourth year as a specialist supplier of diabetic products. The website DiabetesAndMore.com has a full inventory of over 1,000 products to offer.
Customers have been very satisfied with the products and service offered by Diabetes and More. Some reviews are posted below:

Fantastic
We, recently had a power outage. I put my insulin in this. It was great. I also had the Medi-fridge and used it in my car. This emergency kit is great. I am going to buy another one, for my daughter’s school. Judy
A Life SAVER
WOW WOW WOW. We took this with us when we had to evacuate. We did not have a fridge for 7 days and the FRIO kept my insulin cool the whole time. I even used the meter and the glucose tablets. Theresa
